Flexible Vine Robot SPROUT Aims to Help Emergency Teams Navigate Rubble Safely

DeFiance Daily – Researchers at MIT Lincoln Laboratory and the University of Notre Dame have developed SPROUT, a flexible “vine robot” designed to help first responders explore collapsed buildings. The robot can snake through debris to map voids and locate victims, offering a safer, low-cost solution for disaster recovery missions.
